advent week 4

advent week 4

God is love.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. (CCC 1)

Do you love God with all your strength?

I would venture to say that very few of us do.  It's so easy to be caught up in everyday cares!  Long to-do lists and endless distractions are constantly trying to get our attention.

But that doesn't mean you should just give up.  You need to be striving to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30-31

As we lead up to Christmas this week, remember that Jesus is love incarnate - God loves us so much, that He gave us the gift of Himself.

And that loving God with the best you can offer is the greatest way to say thank you.❤️

My encouragement for you (and me!) to seek the sacred this week:
Ask God to help you persevere in LOVE and pray the Act of Love (below).

Happy Advent, and almost Merry Christmas!!

Act of Love

O Lord God, I love you above all things and I love my neighbor for your sake because you are the highest, infinite and perfect good, worthy of all my love.  In this love I intend to live and die.  Amen.
