He's not busy...

He's not busy...

I recently heard this in a homily:
Do you want to have a friendship with Jesus?
Because He has all the time…an eternity…for you!

But do you have time for Him?
Or are you too busy…

How many times have you thought, I don't have time to pray?
(or how many times have you chosen a mindless distraction over prayer…)

I'm not accusing you, because I'm also guilty!   And I know you are really busy.  But are we too busy for Jesus, Our Savior???

It's all too easy to slip into a partial lukewarmness.

…I wish you were either cold or hot.  So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.  Rev 3:15-16

At times it can be hard, but every day we need to strive to keep our focus on Eternal Things.  Our Catholic faith should be influencing and permeating our entire life.

Influencing all the big and little things.  Because God cares about all of it.
And He wants to be your bestie!😊

He's waiting for you to spend more time with Him.  Even among the pots and pans, the laundry, and while you're lying in bed.

So now that we're a little more than halfway through Lent, let's make a renewed effort to work on our prayer lives.  It doesn't have to be long, formal prayer.  Even just small moments talking to Jesus “count.”

He's always there, waiting for you…listening.  Are you talking?

My encouragement for you (and me!) to seek the sacred this week:
Let's try to be more mindful of our opportunities to pray.
Looking at the week ahead - is there a small habit or shift you can make to spend time with Jesus?  It doesn't have to be in a church (although bonus points if it is! 😊), and it doesn't even have to be through formal prayer (though it can be).
He just wants us to bring Him into our everyday thoughts and decisions.

If you're a mom and you want help building this habit, I have a resource here:  Pray More for Busy Catholic Moms.

Anima Christi
Soul of Christ, sanctify me.
Body of Christ, save me.
Blood of Christ, embolden me.
Water from the side of Christ, wash me.
Passion of Christ, strengthen me.
O good Jesus, hear me.
Within your wounds hide me.
Never permit me to be parted from you.
From the evil Enemy defend me.
At the hour of my death call me
and bid me come to you,
that with your Saints I may praise you
for age upon age. Amen.
